Crazy. Reliable. Intelligent. Friendly. Warm. Thoughtful. Vibrant.
Bubbly is a force of nature. She achieves whatever it is she sets her heart to, and you just know she can reach all her dreams. She is a kind soul and a great friend.

Bubbly had a short but sweet stay with us in the Ateneo Chamber Singers. Although she seemed quiet and melancholic at first she stayed long enough for me to catch a glimpse of what she would become: a happier, more confident person. Although our interaction in more recent years have been over Facebook I am happy to have witnessed, virtually, her successes and adventures. May she bloom even more in the coming years!

Ate Val... our "big sister" from our days with Gantimpala Theater Foundation. :)
It never fails to amaze me how Joan has blossomed from a cheerful enthusiastic girl into a smart and beautiful young lady.

We work at the same university but we had to fly miles away from this place to learn of each others existence.
I first noticed her while watching a cultural dance. She was taking photos with an iPad which would sometimes obstruct my view but she immediately apologized each time it happened. Using a tablet PC to take photos bothers me (even if it does not obstruct my view) but apologizing for such a tiny infraction is always appreciated. It is refreshing to come across people who are mindful of others.
The second time she had my attention was when she led an ice breaker where I came to know her name and affiliation. The name sounded happy and her hosting ability showed this warm and bright personality while the affiliation came more of a surprise. Was I hiding under a rock? I do not remember ever seeing that face in the campus! Anyway, that meant we had to work together in some activities. I find her very hands-on and participative which is very advantageous for someone like me, who, like most TV viewers, has a twenty second attention span.
The rest is history for I have lost count of how many other times we have hung- out. The thing that really fascinates me is how much details she remembers from the stuff that I tell her. I wonder if it is a function of being young and having a good memory or it is just good old fashioned thoughtfulness. I bet it is the latter, how else could I explain her act of calling/sending messages to her friends to greet them, wishing them luck or cheering them up?

Bubbly is a beloved friend.
Jeremy Sy a.k.a. Bubbly's Planning sensei
Jeremy Sy, Planning Director from Ogilvy and Mather Philippines
She studies in Ateneo and works in La Salle. By choice. That says a lot about Bubbly...She strives to bridge the unbridgeable, to span the unspannable. She is konyo and jeje, woman and man, adult and child. She is all of it. And none of it. And more
Marce's thoughts about her older sister
Marce's mustache says it all.
She is a spherical film of liquid filled by gas (that is why when choosing between staying with her in an enclosed or open space, you should choose the more open one). She has a globular body resulting in the lack of clothing that can fit her. Her unusual optimism is reminiscent of the light, effervescent quality of bubbles that account for our fascination with blowing through hoops to create them and has the same annoying relentlessness in rising above the world around her. She is also transparent, both in her thoughts and feelings (which is why your secrets are NEVER safe with her, much to her friends' dismay). And, most of all, she is the protective, often isolating envelope or cover that binds her family and friends together. She is the nurturer, the protector, and, just like Spongebob's bubble buddy, the constant companion who will fill your day with laughter, frustration and love (albeit a little too much love leading to stalking). Out of the many definitions of the word, Bubbly is, both literally and figuratively, a bubble. And that's probably a very good thing.
